General Purpose 

In order for your student to have the best and safest experience possible we have established the following Policies and Procedures:

Payments:

A.   Tuition is due by the 1st of each month.  Any payment that is not received by the 10th is considered late and your account will be charged a $10.00 late fee for that payment.   September's tuition is due at the time of your first class.  If not recieved a late fee will be charged if after the 10th of the month.

B.   Payments may be made by check,  ("Paypal", through our website www.e-dancecenter.com) or cash.   They can be mailed or dropped off at the studio mailbox.  Cash is accepted,  but checks are recommended.   Checks should be made out to e-dance center.   Credit card payments accepted through "PayPal" only.   www.e-dancecenter.com under  "pay tuition".

C.   There will be a $25.00 service charge for all dishonored checks.

D.   *Payment coupons are available at the office.   We want to make sure we know exactly what you are paying for with each payment.   Please fill out the coupon and place in an envelope with each payment, (even when paying through PayPal), so we know exactly how to apply that payment.   This is especially important if paying with cash.

E.   Tuition is calculated by the number of instructional hours per week and is paid on a monthly basis.   If a student is absent due to injury, sickness, weather etc,  tuition is not pro-rated. 

F.   Cancelation:  There are no refunds after final payment.   If the student wishes to drop a class please notify the office immediately and fill out a "drop class form" (provided in the office) or you will be responsible for payment of that class. 

G.  Referral Program:  $10.00 off per month for each new e-dance center student.   It does not apply to immediate family members or any past e-dance center students.  The referring student and the referred student must turn in the competed referral form prior to the first day of class or at the time of the referred students registration.  This can be used multiple times, but may not exceed the value of referring students monthly tuition.   The referral discount for the referring student will continue until May 2011 provided the referred student continues ar e-dance center. (Referral credit will drop if referred student discontinues classes.)

Behavior:

e-dance center expects students to behave in an appropriate manner.   Inappropriate behavior or language (disrespectful, rude or inconsiderate etc) may be cause for dismissal.    Inappropriate behavior will be dealt with as follows:

1st offense - student will be talked to.
2nd offense - parent/gaurdian will be contacted.
3rd offense - dismissal from e-dance center.

Class Placement:

It is important that students are placed in skill appropriate classes.  Our teachers and staff will determine which class your student should be in so that they can have the best experience possible.

Attendance:

To be fair to the other students and the teachers, a student needs to be prepared for each class.  Attendance will be taken.   Class attendance is very important and crucial for improvement and progression.  Dancers are only allowed to miss three classes after the Holiday Break.  If more then three are missed,  participation in the end of the year show will be discussed with a parent.

Dress Code:

Proper dance clothing is required for your class.  Those that are not appropriately attired may be asked not to participate.   Students must have the appropriate shoes for each class.  e-dance center will specify the appropriate shoe.  Do not buy any dance shoes before you know exactly the style needed.   We want everyone to be in the exact same shoe for this show in May (no variations).   You may be asked to buy the appropriate shoe for the end of the year show if you have the wrong style. 

No jeans, school/work clothes, or pajama pants allowed in any class.

Jazz - Specified jazz shoe, hair pulled back, leotards,  form fitting dance clothes (no baggy t-shirts or pants), and no excessive jewelry

Tap - Specified tap shoe, leotards, dance clothing, form fitting dance clothes, and no excessive jewelry.

Ballet - Specified ballet shoes, solid black leotard, pink tights, and all hair pulled back into bun. 

Hip Hop - Sneakers, comfortable dance or workout clothing.  No excessive jewelry, flip flops, open toed shoes or bare feet. 

Due to the variation of shoe styles for each style of dance,  we recommend that you contact e-dance center for all questions regarding proper dress. 

e-dance center refers students to The Dancer's Pointe www.thedancerspointepa.com in downtown Hummelstown for it's dance shoes and dancewear.

Questions for Teachers:

Do not interrupt teachers during class or between classes.  If you have a question for one of our teachers please fill out a "comments/questions" form located in the office and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  You can also arrange to schedule a meeting with a teacher if needed.

Weather:

As a general rule please follow the Elizabethtown Area School District's snow cancellation schedule.  If school is canceled for snow or if "early dismissal" occurs (due to weather), the studio will be closed for the day.  We will post the cancellations on the Web site and on television.   Even if weather improves after the school cancellation, or early dismissal, the studio will remain closed.  If many days are missed due to weather, make-up days will be arranged.

Parking:

Please park in the parking lot or on the street side the studio is located on.  Please be respectful of our neighbors.  For your students safety,  please do not drop them off in the street.

Observation:

There will be a scheduled week in January called "Parents Peek Week"  when people can come and watch class.  Unless permitted by the office staff or teacher,  no one will be allowed in the classrooms.  

Miscellaneous:

a.  No cell phones allowed in studio.
b.  No gum chewing or food in the dance studio.
c.   Be respectful of your teacher, other students, and the building.
d.   No Tap shoes in waiting areas.  Please put shoes on in the dance studio before class.
e.   No one should ever assume they deserve a special part or should be featured in any way because of age, 
      grade in school,   or dance level.  
f.   e-dance center will not change or alter a costume chosen for a class to fit your taste. 

Parent Pick-up:

We strongly encourage parents to come into the studio and pick up students after class.  Please be prompt!   It shall be the parent/gaurdians sole discretion to grant permission to the student for the ability to leave the premises of the e-dance center for the situation such as walking home, waiting to be picked up,  going out with friends.  The e-dance center will not monitor or enforce this ability or be held liable for a student leaving the premises before, during, or after classes or any other functions held by the e-dance center.

Food:

Light snacks and drinks are available at the studio as well as a drinking fountain.  No food inside the classrooms,  drinks are permitted.  Please eat food in the downstairs waiting areas.   Please pick-up all trash and crumbs when done.  

Lost and Found:

e-dance center has a lost and found bin in the costume room located in the basement.   Please see an office staff member to get access to the lost and found.   e-dance center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.  e-dance center is not resposible for finding lost or stolen items.   e-dance center will not use it's mass email system or website to inform parents of eanything other than e-dance business.
